Today it’s a balmy 45 degrees and sunny, but last week’s sunshine was literally something to write home about. After lunch last Thursday I set out on a long afternoon walk and made good on my resolution to take more pictures. Many of these scenes will look familiar as I tend to fall into the same well-grooved route, but I hope some of the images give you a little taste of what Bern looks and feels like in the winter. To be fair it’s more mild than I anticipated but I have a feeling this weather is a little out of season. It looks like it will be in the mid-forties all week, which is unusually warm, but I am not, I repeat, not complaining.
^^ so much green!
^^ the best backpack
^^the pride and joy of Bern is the Zytglogge, built in the 13th century and the oldest working clock in Switzerland. You would not believe the amount of tourists who stand at its base when the hour strikes. So little of significance happens but it is the most popular tourist point in the city.
We just put the finishing touches on our guest room so we are ready for visitors! Let me know when you want to come : )
