MTV and the rest of youth would have us believe it is all about “Pumped Up Kicks” in regards to Foster the People. I am here to assert, however, that “Helena Beat” deserves just as much of our attention, if not more. Besides not being about trend-induced violence, it has the added bonus of being a snazzier beat and a better tune for just putting a spring in your step. I will probably give it a listen on my way to school today.
Note: At first, I wanted to put the official music video up here, but failed to do so because I decided a video involving kids watching two men get electrocuted kind of negated my point about “Helena Beat” being a better song.
