Study Sesh

These past couple of weeks have been a sometimes painful reintroduction to the world of dedicated study time. I can sit and read for pretty good stretches. Turns out, I can chain myself to my desk and actually produce some pretty good written word for a couple of hours. But, sitting and studying and reviewing, dang! that’s tough.

The other day I was having some major commitment issues and could only study for thirty minutes before I needed an hour break of “Property Virgins” and sesame chicken. I’m going through a heavy HGTV phase during finals preparation, it turns out. Wednesday saw me turning this apartment upside-down, cleaning all the crud that had built up over about two weeks. Even as I walk back toward my room I think, Oh, better adjust that rug in the kitchen so it’s juuuust so. Or, maybe I should make myself a cup of tea to help me study. Or, I could probably squeeze in an hour yoga session, right?

But, the best study break I have found, or rather, that has found me, is the video posted above. I put it up there first so you wouldn’t miss it, because truly, it is a gem. If you haven’t seen the first Marcel the Shell, then you better check that one out as well. Last night I stumbled upon this sequel, a mere hour before I went to take my first final (dominated it, by the way) and it was the perfect antidote to brain fatigue. It. Is. Hysterical. A shell? With an eye? And shoes? Why is it so durn funny? Take three minutes and watch it. Thank me later.
